FIELD NOTES /001 — THE RETURN

Some names are new. Others have a story worth continuing.
JOX first made its mark in the 1970s, during an era when athletic footwear was becoming part of everyday life. Born from the world of sport, the brand found its way beyond the track and the court, becoming a familiar name to a generation of Americans.
As the years passed, the footwear industry changed. New names emerged, trends came and went, and eventually, JOX faded from view.
But the story didn’t have to end there.
Decades later, there’s something about the original JOX that still feels relevant. The designs, the attitude, the simplicity of an era when sport and everyday style were beginning to overlap. Not because everything was better back then, but because some things are worth carrying forward.
Today, JOX returns with an appreciation for where it began and a fresh perspective on where it can go. Rooted in athletic heritage, but not confined to it. Familiar in spirit, with room to evolve.
There’s no interest in recreating the past exactly as it was. The idea is to build on it, to make something genuine, and to enjoy the process of seeing what it becomes.
For some, JOX is a name they remember. For others, it’s something they’re discovering for the first time.
Different generations. A shared beginning. And a new chapter still being written.
JOX IS BACK.
